This switch is made of series connected MOSFETs or IGBTs in low inductance configuration. The gate drive pulses are generated by a micro controller unit, facilitating variable frequency variable duty cycle operation. This switch unit can switch high voltage dc voltage across a floating resistive load. The controller unit is isolated from the switching unit by optical isolation.
